In August of 2011 we began transporting kittens & cats to the Feral Cat Spay Neuter Project in Lynnwood, WA for free and low-cost spays/neuters for cat owners/caretakers in SW Washington.  By February of 2020, we had facilitated the altering of over 9,000 felines!

Unfortunately, in March of 2020, COVID-19 closures forced the shut down of the clinic in Lynnwood.

When they reopened in June, their capacity had dropped form 40-50 cats a day to just 10-15 a day in a comprehensive effort to protect their employees and volunteers from potential exposure to the Corona Virus.  Understandably, their focus since has been on crisis cats in their more immediate geographical area.

In order for our transportation program to pay for itself and keep The Cat's Meow open, we need to make 3 trips a month with 40 cats per trip to Lynnwood.  Since this is no longer possible, we have made the decision to focus instead on building our own spay/neuter clinic in Chehalis, WA.

We anticipate the clinic to be operational by mid-September.  We will initially conduct our surgeries on in-house kittens and cats while we fine tune our work flow and data entry processes.  Our sincerest hope is that we will be ready to accept public cats by late fall or early winter with preference to low-income individuals and those caring for cats that are evaluated by our trappers and deemed as truly feral/free-roaming.  As more resources become available to us, we will expand our program to ultimately be available to everyone, as it was pre-COVID.

Feral Cat Project provided stellar care to the cats that we took to them over the last 8 1/2 years; we will strive to provide that same level of care to every kitten & cat at our new clinic....no matter if they are feral, tame or somewhere in between.

Please revisit our website in September or October for updates.

Thank you for your continued patience and support.
